Mmm, yum. We are invited to feel the possibility that mindfulness can sometimes be delicious. Often, we bring our ordinary mindset to practice, and it can feel self-critical, rushed, pedestrian, and another thing we "have to do" on the "to-do list."
What would it be like to remember that awareness practice is something we get to do, not have to do? When we look more closely, awareness is who we are, whether we are aware of pleasant or unpleasant. Nothing to improve or change. Mmm, interesting.
We open to micro-moments of unfolding pleasure and joy, to "what's good about this moment." And play with relaxing around whether we experience joy or not, not adding any pressure. Just seeing. MMM.

- Mindfulness meditation
- Heart practices including lovingkindness (metta in Pali) and self-compassion
- nature
And may sometimes include:
- Mindful eating
- research on brain nutrition and on mindfulness

Join us for this morning meditation class in North Oakland, suitable for new and experienced students, alumni of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Mindful Eating, gentle yoga, senior yoga, curvy yoga, beginner yoga, beginner meditation, prenatal yoga, chronic pain, recovery from substance abuse, anxiety, and depression.
Reba Connell is trained in teaching Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Mindful Eating, and Food as Medicine.
Please use unscented products and do not smoke before class for the health of others.
I will look for you in the waiting room and the front steps. If you want to wait in the waiting room, call 510-594-8224 for door code.
We will practice both outside and inside.
Seats are not provided. Please bring a camping chair or cushion.
Dress in layers for shade, fog, and sun.

- Sliding scale: per class meeting: $30–11
- per calendar month: $90–33 (usually 4 classes — each month might end up with 3, 4, or 5 classes)
- Free or by donation to people with Medi-CAL, people without income, those in need

If you have comfortable resources, your choosing Generosity Level tuition supports people with little or no income in participating.
